I made a MODOK.
A pattern I’ve noticed.
Since I need to reblog this for those who were away from their computers for the holiday weekend, I should take this opportunity to talk about my thoughts behind it.
The day I wrote this comic, I watched a YouTube video that featured a young woman talking about the effects of caffeine on the human body. After watching it, I made the mistake of skimming the comments. The most popular topic had nothing to do with the topic of the video, but rather the somewhat crooked teeth of girl talking featured in it. From there it turned into a discussion of whether or not they’d accept a blowjob from her, to whether or not they’d have sex with her to GOOD FREAKING GOD GUYS WHAT THE HELL?! The poor girl is making a video about science! I’ve seen advertisements for winter coats more provocative than this! I realized at that moment that if a man had made the same video, everyone would have been on topic. It was kind of a depressing moment. Despite all our progress with women’s rights in the past century, there’s still a lot of times when we seem to think it’s okay to respect a man in a certain situation but act like a horny gorilla if the same situation involves a woman instead.
Anyway, I’m really glad that this comic has been so well-received. The most popular thing I’ve ever written to this point has been a joke about a guy naming his genitalia after Willie Wonka characters, so I’d love to be known as a guy who has more up his sleeve than that.
A pattern I’ve noticed.
I am blown away at how popular this comic has been! Guess I needn’t be so hesitant to express my opinions through the comic.
